Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

After getting in the bed at 11:30PM last night, I definitely know I heard my watch’s hourly beep THREE times, which means I didn’t fall asleep until AFTER 2 AM (for the second night in a row). And my body woke-up sometime around 6 AM or so because I laid in the bed trying to go back to sleep a good while before my alarm went off at 6:30 AM. I think sleeping in until almost 10 AM and my hour long nap at 4 PM yesterday was what kept me from sleeping last night. And I wasn’t the only one who had this problem. It seems that everyone had a hard time falling asleep last night. (Oh and it also wasn’t fun waking up to find myself scratching my feet due to all of the bug bites. There are so many....my whole foot looks like it is swollen from all of the bites). Only getting 4 hours of sleep last night really made it difficult to stay awake in church today. I was doing everything I could to not fall asleep. I didn’t even try to translate the sermon, I was so tired; all I know is that the preacher continued with the Family Series and talked about mothers. After church, Daniel and Kara took the interns (along with Kara’s parents and Christy’s mom who are visiting this week) out to lunch at the Chili’s in the MiraFlores Mall (one of the nicest malls I’ve ever been to.....it definitely beats many American malls). Getting to eat at Chili’s was a really treat for me because I hadn’t been to a Chili’s in so long since they closed down the one in Douglasville a few years ago. The “American” food tasted SOOOO good. I didn’t realize how much I missed it. I had the Turkey Combo with the veggie medley. A house salad came with my meal, but I ended up giving it to Liz because they got her order mixed up. She wanted the “Crispy Chicken Ensalada” (salad), but the waiter obviously didn’t hear the “ensalada” part because he brought her just the “Crispy Chicken” plate. We had lots of fun at lunch and we were very thankful for the food!!! As soon as we got back to NLCH, I took a 2 hour nap to make up for the lack of sleep from last night. I’m just hoping it won’t affect me going to sleep tonight. I don’t know if I can handle 2 nights in a row of not being able to fall asleep. (P.S. to my mom.....just in case you were wondering- I did my laundry myself for the first time since I’ve been here today!) Here are some pictures from our lunch at Chili’s (top to bottom): Scott and Courtney; Shelly, Beth, and Liz; Courtney, me, and Emily.
